Mycotoxins and Feed Management Answers Are Only a Click Away

[Dublin, IRELAND] – The website, www.KnowMycotoxins.com introduced Mr. Bruce Woodacre, a leading UK based expert from Knowledge Management, on Friday 9th November to visitors of the website in its first ‘Ask the Expert’ session.

Visitors to the site are invited to email in their questions on mycotoxins and feed management to info@KnowMycotoxins.com by Friday 23rd November. Bruce will answer the most frequently asked questions and these will be posted on the site the first week in December.

This is an opportunity for farmers, nutritionists and feed mills to receive expertise from a leading consultant in the area of mycotoxins in stored grains and silages, feed management strategies and any other questions regarding mycotoxins at farm or feed mill level.

25% of the world’s grains were contaminated by mycotoxins in 1985. This can have a detrimental impact on the health of the animal as well as costing the industry thousands of dollars every year in lost grains. The global impact of mycotoxins has been recognised by governing institutions throughout the world and only recently the European Commission of the EU introduced a new legislation on ‘The recommendation for mycotoxins in products intended for animal feeding,’ in order to limit the levels of mycotoxins in grains.

An article by top expert, Dr. Isabelle Oswald from INRA, France, on the topic of mycotoxins and immunity will be available to download from the site in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese in December.
