AT&T Advertising Solutions Celebrates the Year of the Horse Across the Bluegrass State with the Unveiling of Two Directory Covers
Staff Writer

LEXINGTON, Ky. Feb. 3, 2010 —2010 is proving to be the “Year of the Horse” across the Bluegrass State. AT&T Advertising Solutions is proud to show its support by featuring the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games on the cover of the new AT&T Real Yellow Pages directory. Additionally, the AT&T Real Yellow Pages will feature the Kentucky Horse Park’s International Museum of the Horse on its Midi directory.

More than 435,000 copies of the directories have been produced for distribution to residents and businesses. Delivery for the core Directory is underway and will continue through Feb. 8. The directory will be available to new residents and businesses throughout the year.

The Games will showcase the best horses and riders in the world, competing at the pinnacle of their athletic careers for world championships in eight equestrian sports at the Kentucky Horse Park from Sept. 25 through Oct. 10. World-famous artist LeRoy Neiman has captured the spirit of the Games in an official commemorative print, which is featured on the AT&T Real Yellow Pages cover, and is currently on display in the library at the International Museum of the Horse.

The Kentucky Horse Park International Museum of the Horse is pleased to host its third international blockbuster exhibition, A Gift from the Desert: The Art, History & Culture of the Arabian Horse. The exhibition runs from May 29 through Oct. 15. The first major exhibition to explore the dynamic impact of the horse on Near Eastern civilization, A Gift from the Desert will have a particular emphasis on the first horse breed, the Arabian Horse, and will feature more than 400 artifacts and pieces of art from 25 different museums and private collections in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

The Midi directory, which features an Arabian horse and costumed rider, will begin delivery in early summer. Both directories will be available to Lexington area residents and businesses throughout the year. The park is promoting the Arabian connection with one of the world’s best exhibitions in 2010, an expanded permanent addition to the museum, and live Arabians being presented to the public at the Parade of Breeds.

“We always strive to make our directory covers special on the outside and tailor the content inside to best serve the needs of our communities,” said Dave Weller, AT&T Kentucky regional director, external affairs. “Our Community Information Pages also include a special equine section to assist visitors and new Lexington residents. You can always count on the AT&T Real Yellow Pages as your complete source of local information.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games to be featured on the cover of the AT&T Real Yellow Pages, said Terry Johnson, vice president of sponsorship and marketing. “Lexington has a well-deserved significance in the horse world, and LeRoy Neiman’s painting on the cover will make people in this area as proud as we are to be here in the Bluegrass State.”

Best known for his brilliantly colored, stunningly energetic images of sporting events and leisure activities, LeRoy Neiman is considered one of the most popular living artists in the United States. He has been the official artist of five Olympics, four Super Bowls, as well as the Breeders’ Cup and the Kentucky Derby. He was recently created the official commemorative image for the 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville. As new books are delivered, Lexington area businesses and residents are encouraged to recycle their outdated directories. Residents and businesses can call the AT&T Real Yellow Pages Project ReDirectory help line, listed on the directory cover, at 800-953-4400 for directory recycling information in this community.
